Dated May 30, 1857. This stunning Victorian brooch features a vibrant micromosaic scarab beetle set within a 15KT yellow gold frame. This dynamic piece embodies both Egyptian Revival and Etruscan Revival elements, which were popular in jewelry made during this time period. Micromosaics, truly miniature works of art, experienced a surge in popularity from the 1840s through the 1870s.
This brooch measures 34mm in diameter and 10mm thick.
