Victorian Taille D'épargne Bangle
Circa 1880. This beautiful 14KT Victorian bangle was embellished using a technique called taille d'epargne, which literally means "saving cut" in French. Also known as enamel tracery, the technique involved filling engraved lines in a metal base with enamel - usually black. This technique was used to decorate chatelaines, bracelets, watch cases and mourning jewelry. This bangle fit a 6-inch wrist.
