Norwegian Blue Enamel Festoon Necklace
Circa 1900. This stunning Victorian festoon necklace features bright blue enamel accents set in an ornate silver setting. The necklace was crafted by Marius Hammer, a goldsmith and jeweler in Bergen, Norway, during the late 1800s. He studied in Hamburg and Berlin before instituting his own workshop in 1871. From around 1880, he specialized in creating modern designs of traditional Norwegian jewelry as well as working with plique-à-jour enamel. The necklace measures 16.25 inches in length.
