Victorian Celtic Silver Cross

$875.00
SKU CH3307

Circa 1900. The Celtic cross we know today is a marriage of the Latin cross with the addition of a halo where the arms and stem intersect. It reflects the Hiberno-Saxon art form in Britain and Ireland after the fall of the Roman Empire. This art form is famous for interlacing, which intertwines complex motifs to fill a space. It gained popularity during the Celtic Revival of the 19th century and became widely used for funerary monuments and other uses, moving beyond Ireland.

This fabulous silver Celtic cross measures 3.5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide.
