Victorian 18KT Braided Keeper Ring
Dated 1903; Chester, England. This fabulous Victorian English "keeper" ring features a braided motif crafted in 18KT yellow gold. The keeper ring was fashioned to keep a more expensive ring from accidentally slipping off your finger. As diamond rings became more popular, various styles of keeper rings were used to protect the ring - gold bands, enamel bands, diamond bands. The keeper ring eventually evolved into the wedding band. We love to see this ring on women and men. The current size is 8.75.
This ring measures 10mm at the widest point, tapering to 5mm at the bottom of the shank. It is currently a size 8.75.
We size the majority of our rings; sizing takes approximately two weeks and is complimentary for most pieces, with the occasional exception.
