Victorian French Ruby & Diamond Ring
Circa 1880. This fabulous 18KT gold Victorian French ring features a central .35-carat old mine-cut diamond set into a bezel-style setting. The diamond exhibits SI1 clarity and O-P color. The ring's pierced design is accented with 18 bead-set, oval mixed-cut natural rubies. The rubies weigh 2.70 carats in total. The shank is stamped with a French gold hallmark and features engraved wheat and foliate motifs.
Appraised Value: $5,900
The ring measures 11.3mm at the top, rises 8.8mm above the finger, tapering to 1.7mm wide and 0.9mm thick at the base of the shank.
