Circa 1830. This sentimental 18KT gold Georgian mourning ring features black enamel along the top face of the gallery and shank. The gallery is topped with one bezel-set, oval cabochon-cut garnet and haloed with 12 bezel-set natural seed pearls. Each shoulder of the ring is accented with four bezel-set, natural seed pearls. The pearls represent grief and tears, the black enamel represents mourning, and the garnet may represent blood or the desire to rekindle the lost relationship with a loved one. This fantastic ring is nearly 200 years old and in excellent condition!

The ring measures 14.7mm at the top, rises 5.8mm above the finger, tapering to 4.0mm wide and 0.9mm thick at the base of the shank.

We size the majority of our rings; sizing takes approximately two weeks and is complimentary for most pieces, with the occasional exception.
