Vintage 2-Tone Diamond Wedding Set
Designed to be worn together, this vintage wedding set creates a striking display of brilliance and dimension. The two-tone 14KT gold engagement ring features one .46-carat round brilliant-cut diamond framed by six tapered baguette diamonds and 16 round brilliant-cut diamonds, while the coordinating diamond band features nine bead-set round brilliant-cut diamonds. The diamonds total 1.26 carats, with VS2-I1 clarity and F-H color.
The combination of round brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds became a hallmark of midcentury jewelry, pairing the lively sparkle of brilliant cuts with the crisp, architectural lines of baguettes.
Wedding sets became increasingly popular during the mid-twentieth century, reflecting a desire for engagement rings and wedding bands that were designed as a unified composition. Bold yet beautifully balanced, this wedding set celebrates the artistry of thoughtful design, where every diamond contributes to a composition greater than the sum of its parts.
Appraised Value: $6,825
The set measures 14.3mm wide at the top, rises 7.5mm above the finger, tapering to 3.7mm wide and 1.3mm thick at the base of the shanks.
