Victorian Silver Fancy Link Watch Chain

$1,400.00
SKU A20130

Dated 1887; Birmingham, England. There’s something wonderfully satisfying about a Victorian watch chain—both practical and beautifully ornamental, designed to be seen and admired. This handsome sterling silver example dates to 1887 and was assayed in London, as indicated by the lion passant and lower-case “m” date letter. The chain features richly detailed, sculptural links with lovely depth and texture. Finished with its original T-bar clasp, it would once have secured a gentleman’s pocket watch, while today it transitions effortlessly into a striking necklace or layered statement chain. The piece bears an “HP” maker’s mark, attributed to Henry Pope, a respected late-Victorian silversmith known for finely crafted watch chains and silver accessories. The chain measures 19.25 inches in length.
