Victorian French Ruby Cabochon Snake Ring
Circa 1880. This gorgeous 18KT gold Victorian snake ring features two lovely oval ruby cabochons weighing approximately 1 carat and is stamped with French gold hallmarks. The ring is approximately a size 6. Snake rings were all the rage after Queen Victoria was given a snake engagement ring from Prince Albert, symbolizing eternal love.
The ring measures 11.8mm at the top, rises 4.3mm above the finger, tapering to 4.2mm wide and .8mm thick at the base of the shank. It is approximately a ring size 6.
