Garnet Memorial Ring Dated 1914

$1,800.00
SKU A27070

This Late-Victorian/Early Edwardian 12KT gold mourning ring features a cabochon garnet, bezel-set within a smooth, rounded mount. The stone’s deep wine-red hue appears nearly opaque in low light.

The back of the ring is engraved with “J. S. Harker / Died 1914,” transforming it into a deeply personal memorial. Its form bridges traditional signet styling and gypsy-set gemstone design, with a low, substantial profile suited for daily wear.

Dated 1914, the ring reflects a pivotal moment in global history. Garnets, long associated with protection and enduring affection, were especially fitting for such pieces.

The ring is approximately a size 6.75.

Ring sizing is complimentary for most of our pieces and takes approximately two weeks to complete. If the ring needs to be sized up by 2 or more sizes, an additional charge will apply, depending on the piece.

Care Note: This ring is crafted with a closed-back setting, a traditional construction that enhances the depth of the stone’s color. As with many antique rings of this type, it should be kept dry and free from moisture. We recommend removing the ring before handwashing, bathing, or applying lotions to protect the setting over time.
