Victorian Memorial Locket
Dated 1874. This sentimental 14KT gold Victorian locket represents a deeply personal piece of one's history. Inscribed in enamel on the face are the words In Memory Of. The back of the locket is embossed with ivy leaves and a three-dimensional texture. For the Victorians, ivy symbolized fidelity and wedded love. Inside the locket is the engraved inscription Mary Ann Gillett, died 20th Aug 1874. Aged 67. A lock of Mary's hair has been lovingly arranged under the opposite frame. The locket is sold in its original box.
