Circa 1860–1880. This Victorian 15KT gold pendant features a striking oval banded agate cabochon, bezel-set within a smooth gold mount. The reverse opens to a locket compartment, suggesting its original use as a personal keepsake or memorial. Banded agate, long associated with strength and protection, was favored in the Victorian era for both its graphic elegance and deeper symbolic meaning.

The banded agate locket measures a 1/2-inch long (including bail) and 1 1/16 inches wide.
