Vintage Garnet & Chrysoberyl Diamond Ring
Circa 1975. This wonderful Victorian-style 9KT gold ring features a richly colored almandine garnet flanked by two purplish-red alexandrite chrysoberyl gemstones and accented by four round single-cut diamonds. The garnets weigh nearly two carats, and the diamonds weigh approximately .08 carats in total.
Inspired by the gemstone cluster rings popular during the Victorian era, the design combines romantic styling with vibrant color. Almandine garnet, celebrated for its deep wine-red hue, has long symbolized love, protection, and strength, while alexandrite, a rare color-changing variety of chrysoberyl, is associated with transformation, adaptability, and good fortune.
Appraised Value: $2,500
The ring measures 6.4mm at the top, rises 4.1mm above the finger, tapering to 2.3mm wide and 1.2mm thick at the base of the shank.
