Circa 1890; Birmingham, England. A vibrant expression of late Victorian design, this 18KT gold ring features four rubies alternating with two diamonds set in 18KT gold. The diamonds weigh approximately .16 carats, with VS1 clarity and I-J color. The rubies weigh approximately .52 carats.

Rubies were prized for their vivid red hue and were traditionally associated with passion, vitality, and prosperity, while diamonds symbolized strength, fidelity, and enduring love. Together, these gemstones formed one of the most beloved combinations in Victorian jewelry, making ruby-and-diamond rings popular gifts to commemorate life's most meaningful occasions.

Birmingham, England hallmarks are stamped on the inside shank. The year hallmark was removed earlier due to sizing.

The ring measures 6.3mm at the top, rises 3.8mm above the finger, tapering to 1.8mm wide and 0.9mm thick at the base of the shank.
