Art Deco Sapphire & Diamond Horseshoe Necklace
Circa 1920. A timeless symbol of luck and protection, this antique horseshoe pendant is crafted in 14KT white gold and suspended from a delicate 9KT white gold chain. Three old European-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 0.15 carats, alternate with four vivid blue sapphires, totaling approximately .28 carats . The diamonds exhibit SI2-I1 clarity and G-H color.
Horseshoe jewelry enjoyed enduring popularity during the late Victorian, Edwardian, and early Art Deco periods, when it was worn as a talisman believed to attract good fortune and ward off misfortune.
The pendant measures 17.1mm by 15.6mm and is suspended from a 9KT white gold cable-link neck chain measuring 18 inches.
