Art Deco Diamond Bypass Ring
Circa 1920. Dating to approximately 1920, this elegant ring is crafted in 18KT gold and set with three sparkling Swiss-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.13 carats with VS1-VS2 clarity and F-G color. The diamonds are nestled within platinum-topped bezels, a hallmark of early 20th-century jewelry design that allowed jewelers to showcase diamonds against a bright white setting while retaining the warmth and durability of a gold mounting.
The ring's graceful openwork design features flowing, sculptural curves that sweep around the diamond cluster. The arrangement recalls the romantic sentiment of the toi et moi tradition, in which paired stones and intertwined forms symbolize the union of two lives.
Appraised Value: $2,600
The ring measures 8.2mm at the top, rises 3.9mm above the finger, tapering to 1.8mm wide and 1.1mm thick at the base of the shank.
