Victorian Carnelian Fob

Circa 1860. This fantastic Victorian Fob features a carnelian intaglio carved depicting four children, each with a snake around its neck. This representation may seem strange to us, but a child's neck encircled with a snake was not uncommon in Victorian heraldry. In fact, this image could reference the family name Vaughn. The carnelian is bezel set in 9KT gold.
