Dated 1864; Birmingham, England. This fabulous 18KT gold Victorian English ring features a .91-carat bezel-set, marquise mixed-cut natural amethyst. The amethyst is haloed with six bead-set, round mixed-cut natural emeralds weighing .12 carats in total and 12 natural seed pearls measuring 1.5mm wide. This suffragette ring was worn as a symbol of women's right to vote. Suffragette jewelry often featured the colors green, purple, and white. The color purple represents dignity, royalty, and freedom, white represents purity, and green represents hope.

The ring measures 18.6mm at the top, rises 4.3mm above the finger, tapering to 2.5mm wide and 1.0mm thick at the base of the shank. The shank is stamped with Birmingham, England hallmarks.
