Victorian St. George Plique-A-Jour Box
Circa 1890. This fantastic Victorian pierced silver box depicts St. George slaying the dragon. The box is accented with plique-a-jour enamel details. Plique-a-jour refers to an enamel technique that does not use any type of backing, so light can shine through - much like stained glass.
