Circa 1890. This beautiful Victorian memorial necklace features a stunning onyx pendant accented with prong/bezel-set seed pearls. The seed pearls symbolize tears. The pendant hangs from a gold chain embellished with faceted onyx links. Black jewelry was popular in the late Victorian Era as Queen Victoria mourned Prince Albert's death and her populace followed suit.
