Victorian Luckenbooth Heart Bangle
Circa 1890. This beautiful 14KT gold Victorian two-section bangle features a Scottish Luckenbooth heart, a symbol of love that was given as a token of devotion, friendship, or betrothal. The name "Luckenbooth" comes from the tiny locked booths where jewelry and trinkets were sold on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. This Luckenbooth heart is set against a blue and white enamel background and is accented with 33 bead-set, rose-cut diamonds weighing .16 carats.
