Victorian French Sapphire & Diamond Ring
Circa 1900. This stunning Victorian French ring features a triumvirate of sapphires and a diamond, accented with even more luscious diamonds and set in platinum-topped 18KT gold. The natural deep blue sapphires weigh .28 carats and are punctuated with an old mine-cut diamond weighing .35 carats with SI2 clarity and L color. The rose-cut accent diamonds weigh 1.02 carats total with an SI1-I1 clarity range and H-I color. The ring is finished with a gold shank that bears a "knife-edge" profile and French trademarks.
Appraised Value: $5,800.
The ring measures 19.9mm at the top, rising to 6mm above the finger, tapering to 2.1mm wide and 1.2mm thick at the base of the shank.
