Victorian Renaissance Revival Garnet Choker
Circa 1860. This fabulous choker is an example of Victorian Revivalist jewelry. Designers of this motif took inspiration from the Renaissance Era and brought the aesthetic into the nineteenth century. This rare piece features lovely foil-backed garnet cabochons framed in silver. The woman who owned this piece most likely wore it to a ball or festivities of a similar nature that were popular during this time period. The choker sits in its original box.
