Victorian Memorial Jet Brooch

Circa 1900. This lovely jet brooch was most likely a piece of mourning jewelry. Black jewelry was popular in the late Victorian Era as Queen Victoria mourned the death of Prince Albert, and her populace followed suit wearing black jewelry as well. The brooch may also be worn as a pendant.
This brooch measures approximately 2 inches long and 1.5 inches at the widest point.
