Victorian Paste Earrings
Circa 1860. These lovely Victorian earrings feature paste stones prong-set in silver. Paste is hard glass that due to its higher refractive index, easily mimics the brilliance of real gemstones. Paste was difficult to produce and handcrafted with such nuance that the glass stones were used in high jewelry settings during the Georgian and Victorian Eras.
These earrings measure 41mm long, 15mm at the widest point, tapering to 3.5mm at the bottom.
