Dated May 30, 1857. This amazing Victorian brooch features a colorful scarab beetle micromosaic set with a 15KT yellow gold frame. This dynamic piece embodies both Egyptian Revival and Etruscan Revival elements popular in jewelry made during this time period. Micromosaics, truly miniature works of art, surged in popularity from the 1840s through the 1870s.
This brooch measures 34mm in diameter and 10mm thick.
