
Victorian Elgin Gold-Filled Pocket Watch
Circa 1893. This beautiful Victorian Elgin pocket watch was retailed by the Chicago jeweler, C.D. Peacock. The pocket watch features a gold-filled engraved hunter-style case by J. Muhr & Bro. (Case No. 451845). The front of the case is engraved with a Native American. The back of the case is engraved with a domed state-building. Both engravings feature floral details. The white dial features black Arabic numerals and a seconds sub-dial located at the 6 o'clock position. The manual-wind, 15-jewel Elgin movement is in working order. B.W. Raymond variation. Size 18s. The serial number 4601986 is engraved on the movement. This watch has substantial weight.
