Georgian Chalcedony & Bloodstone Watch Key

Circa 1840. This fantastic Georgian era watch key features both chalcedony and bloodstone set within a lovely 15KT gold frame. The smooth gemstones are the perfect foil for the ornate repousse setting. Until the late 19th century, a watch key was necessary for winding and setting a pocket watch. These keys were usually attached to watch chains or chatelaines.
