Victorian Augis Love Charm
Circa 1900. This Victorian 14KT "Coin of Love" was created in 1907 by Lyonias designer Alphonse Augis. To create a riff on a poem written by 19th-century poet Rosemond Gerard, one of the verses was distilled into four words and two symbols: + Qu' Hier (more than yesterday) - Que Demain (less than tomorrow). The plus and minus symbols are accented with rose-cut diamonds (I love you is implied). The pendant is also known as an Augis Charm.
