Victorian Crystal Opal & Diamond Ring
Dated 1881; Birmingham, England. This lovely 18KT gold Victorian ring features a gorgeous .65-carat crystal opal cabochon presenting a play of orange, green, and red hues. The opal is accented on each side by one prong/semi-bezel set, old European-cut diamond (2 total). The diamonds weigh .82 carats in total, with I2 clarity and G-H color. The shank is stamped with Birmingham, England hallmarks.
Appraised Value: $4,500
The ring measures 7.4mm at the top, rises 5.4mm above the finger, tapering to 2.3mm wide and 0.8mm thick at the base of the shank.
