Midcentury Diamond Ring with Ruby Halo
Circa 1950. This fantastic platinum Midcentury ring features a gorgeous 2.78-carat bezel-set, round brilliant-cut diamond, exhibiting VVS2 clarity and O-P color. The center stone is bordered with 14 channel-set, calibre'-cut natural rubies. Each shoulder of the ring features a pierced design and is accented with 11 bead-set, round brilliant-cut diamonds. The gemstones are bordered with milgrain edging. The accent diamonds weigh .24 carats in total, with SI1-SI2 clarity and F-G color. The rubies weigh .56 carats.
Appraised Value: $27,800
The ring measures 15.3mm at the top, rises 6.7mm above the finger, tapering to 1.9mm wide and 0.8mm thick at the base of the shank.
