Circa 1880. This beautiful Victorian shell cameo features the engraved countenance of Bacchus (or Dionysus) bezel set in a 14KT gold frame. Bacchus was a god of fruitfulness and vegetation, but better known as the god of wine and ecstasy.
This brooch measures 54mm tall by 40mm wide.
