Art Deco French Ivory Cameo
Circa 1920. This gorgeous German cameo was crafted in french ivory, haloed with blue guilloche enamel, and set in 935 silver, which is higher in purity than sterling silver. French ivory is a type of plastic created in the late 1800s to imitate expensive natural ivory. Pieces made from this type of celluloid were only in production through the 1940s and are desired collectibles.
