Circa 1890. This fantastic Victorian lizard brooch features exquisite detailing. The 15KT gold lizard is adorned with diamonds set in silver and accented with ruby eyes. The lizard was a popular motif in Victorian jewelry and represented the Roman symbol of wedded bliss. This brooch is nestled in its original box. The jeweler, Robert Scott, had a shop located on Buchanan street in Glasgow. Buchanan street's reputation for upscale specialty shopping during Robert Scott's tenure, continues to this day.
