Circa 1840. This exquisite early Victorian 18KT yellow gold brooch is made from the ash of Mt. Vesuvius and carved to show a three dimensional cupid. A bow and arrow are slung over his shoulder and a basket rests in his arms. This wonderful brooch measures 42.30mm x 36.20mm x 23.00mm. The cameo measures 34.50mm x 28.30mm x 12.80mm.
